Bootlosophy
Австралия
Добавлен 14 сен 2021
Bootlosophy is about all things boot related, and a few things besides, like leather goods, gear, and life values!
I love boots, for their utilitarianism as well as their style, and how they can change your mood when you wear different boots. Bootlosophy will review boots, but more, it will look from a wearer's eye, not from the eye of a leather expert. It will look at how you can wear and style boots, and how boots are in our lives.

Long Term Wear in the Fortis x Bootlosophy Strider
I didn't get boot bags with my most recent purchase stitchdown boot. I wonder if he just ran out or if he's phasing them out to keep prices down. Or maybe he just missed it with my purchase.
I cut the pull loop off of my falcons for the very reason you described.
Are those iron rangers wide or regular feet ?
D
I loved the impromptu business lesson, wouldn't mind seeing one in every video
There you have it
Just ordered my second pair of custom JG boots. Super value!
Significant price jump in todays market. $409usd. Whilst I was happy with my Bordon boots that I paid I think around $300usd for, $409usd now pushes it into a quality bracket the price doesn't quite make sense for.
Check out Wyatt & Dad’s latest video where he compares them to PNW boots
Gorgeous boots! Looking forward to seeing the aging on these
You're about the same size as me, 5' 9". Do you feel your sleeves are just a tad too long in the medium size? Thanks.
Yes, a tad
I was actually looking into getting the Delaware not to long ago.. may as well, I live in the state of Delaware! lol,, they had them in Maryam horse.. it was quite tempting.. thanks for the review.. I just got some White's MPs in the other week done in a CF Stead leather. my first time for that tannery. quite happy with them.., always looking forward to the next video,, thanks again
Always a good day when there is a new bootlosophy video!
🤣Thank you
I’ve worn mine a lot, and I agree on the sizing. They are distinctly too big at a half size down. I should have gone a full size down. If I wear very thick socks and tie them with a heel lock technique (you can google it), the heel slip is tolerable. But they are not the great walking boots that I was hoping for because of the sizing. On the bright side, they are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn for standing long hours. I have stood watching my daughter’s track meets for five hours and was amazed at how my feet and legs did not get tired.
I went a full size down and after breaking in they fit more like a tight sneaker, but I kept my same brannock width
I really enjoy your reviews, very thorough, thoughtful, complete, and honest. Thank you for doing them! I am tying to decide on which ones to purchase, the Razorbacks or the African Rangers. Which one of those two do you think is more comfortable underfoot? I do have a pair of the Crazy Horse Vellies I bought back in '21. :)
I have the no.2 brushed brown and the no.5 rough out. Thick leathers on these boots but so comfy
They look just fantastic Teik. 602 and 602m great lasts. Great leather there too. Hey that’s a nice sweater! Who makes them?
This was from Gazman.
Work boot? Service boot, what a carfuffle of a conundrum indeed!
handsome boot and a beautiful leather, but storm welt lets it down
Split reverse welt, but why do you think it lets it down?
@@Bootlosophy looks only, i appreciate the benefits, but if i needed waterproof boots i'd wear wellies. it's just aesthetics for me, given the choice with, or without, i'd always go for without. mind you i might be crazy, cause i live in the UK
Awesome 👌
Got to try the 618 last last night. The support and snugness from arch to heel is just incredible for my foot. I was wearing thin socks, so I'm sure medium thickness socks will improve the fit even further.
Those look great. I was tempted to order a pair but couldn't justify it between my rust waxy Allens and natural double shot Delawares both of which I wear regularly. My Allens are on the 602 last which I found to be a bit snug, but through a combination of slightly thinner socks and not cinching them up as tight as my other boots I finally enjoy wearing them. I like that Andrew shortened up the toe cap as well. On both of my cap-toed Parkhurst boots I'm developing a crease about a half inch into the toe cap because of how far back they extend. It made the natural Dublins a bit uncomfortable to break in until the leather had been flexed through a few miles of walking. Looking forward to your unboxing of the waxed flesh stitchdown. That was the other one I had my sights on.
Watch next week!
Yeah the color is fantastic! Those will be your go to comfortable casual boots. They will be perfect in the rainy season. I look forward to the follow up videos.
Best shoes trees now are the Safir (La Cordonnaire Anglaise)
Use ankle boots trees. A Fine Pair of Shoes have the best shoe trees. They are now Safir but were theoriginal La Cordonnaire Anglaise shoe trees. They joined or bought out.
❤
Fabulous looking boots. Almost exactly what I’m looking for also!
Thanks again, Teik. Great looking boots.
Great video! So do you think I should go down a full size down for brass boot? How do you keep your wedge soles so clean!?
Good chance a full size down from Brannock will work
They look better w/ green laces … great video!!!
On my recent purchase of Parkhurst Inferno Rambler’s my boots didn’t come with boot bags.
Yeah just the shoebox without the plastic bags that I have seen
Very nice !
I picked up the Gaucho Moose Richmond's, my first Parkhursts. I quite like them and that waxed mohawk is calling my name now. Cool leathers and nice boots for sure.
My new 618 Stitchdown Parkhursts came with a shoebox too which was a pleasant surprise. I asked Andrew and he said they wouldn't run any other patterns on the 618 stitchdown build which is a shame.
Yes and the 618 last will only be on the stitchdown build
Nice looking boots.very nice
Just what I’ve been waiting for 😎🤠
With the new boots out, which pair are you looking at, Teik?
Is it ok to snip off the tabs ( so they don't ride up when wearing pants)?
The toebox has a lot of volume and I had to go down a full size from my Brannock when I got my Field Boots.
Not my style of boots but those look amazing!
My Badelassi tan brass boots have a ton of pipey creasing, and indelible sweat stains in the upper, and the wedge sole is heavily stained. Not the same boot but the same materials and mine look very different from yours. Mine are my most comfortable footwear that I own. Better even than my Brooks running shoes, for walking. Love them but they aren’t pretty.
they will flex and contour to your foot - very comfortable with and without 'mohair' socks
Yes update
These Badalassi leathers don't really stretch though. Generally quite firm in temper. It has been noted by many that yes the Field boots are just a little roomier than the Brass boot, especially in the heel. So I think it's just the pattern design. Likewise, in the Leo last, some have noted the Garrison boot is slightly narrower than the Diesel in the same size. Meant to be the same, but somehow, it's a little different.
You know, that quip about the numzaan boots in the end got me thinking. Did you feel any difference underfoot wearing heritage goodyearwelted versus heritage stitchdown. In GYW style welted boots, there is always going to be a filler layer unless you go all the way up to budget to handwelting where they use holdfast instead. In stitchdown on the otherhand, you get to have leather from insole all the way to outsole once you go up to PNW level budget.
On sizing, I found the same thing with my Brass boots ( on the same last). I should have gone down a full size...I saw some advice on one of the Dale's leather works videos about going down a size but up a width. I haven't tried it, but would be interested to hear if anybody has
You are a lifesaver for newbies coming into the boot hobby. Thanks for your videos
The keffiyeh looks good on you! Good to know that the homages to the natives extends to natives from Palestine aswell
1 year old and the rubber wedge sole looks pristine. Have you ever considered that you have so many boots that one year of ownership for you is only like one month of ownership for people with less boots? Idk, maybe it's just the title of "1 year review" that bugs me. To most people that means being worn for the majority of one year.
I sorta agree but i honestly take these longer term reviews as a "updated review" on how they wear and how his experience is different from mine (i have black cxl diesels with leather soles and field boot in crimson cxl). And there are not many long term reviews of grant stone boots, so i can appreciate that Tiek for making these.
Teik, for the lacing you might try leather laces. I have the Field boot in black Chromexcel and I put in leather laces and found it was much easier to lace them up tightly.
Don't forget to social distance 1.5 meters, which is very important. Together we can flatten the curve.
This boot on their lug sole would be a hit. The wedge is great for casual use, but I figure not as tough. Love the color on the leather.
